Pravara Agro Innovations is building an agricultural processing business, starting at the hardest end — sourcing. Today the company procures produce across Indian growing belts and ships it to importers abroad. Processing and value addition are what it is incorporated to build.
Buying is the hard part. We do that part ourselves.
Indian agricultural supply is fragmented across thousands of small growers and mandis, and quality moves week to week. Rather than buying finished lots off the market, we work the sourcing end directly — which is what lets us hold a specification instead of shipping whatever was available.
Specification
Every order starts as a written spec — grade, size, moisture, packing, delivery terms — agreed with the buyer before we go to market.
Procurement
Sourced against that spec from growers and aggregators in the relevant belt, rather than bought as a standing lot.
Grading & packing
Cleaned, graded and packed to the agreed format. Fresh lines move under cold chain from packing through to stuffing.
Documentation
Shipping bill, phytosanitary certificate and preferential certificate of origin issued against the consignment before sailing.
Sourcing first. Then shelf life. Then the plant.
Fresh fruit is the most demanding thing you can put in a container — it sets a clock at harvest and holds you to a cold chain and a documentation window with no slack in either. Running that well is what qualifies a sourcing operation. Dry commodities take the same procurement discipline into products that travel further and hold longer. Processing is the end of that line: a business that already controls its raw material is the one that should be adding value to it.
Fresh produce export
Direct grower procurement, export-grade packing, cold chain handling and full documentation for sea shipments to overseas importers.
Domestic wholesale
Wholesale supply of agricultural and horticultural produce within India, alongside the export programme.
Dry commodity programme
Extending sourcing into groundnut kernels and allied non-perishable agricultural commodities, where shelf life allows larger consignments and steadier contracts.
Processing & value addition
The company is incorporated to establish processing and manufacturing units for agricultural, horticultural and dairy products, and to commercialise those value-added goods through wholesale, retail and export channels. This is the direction the sourcing programme is built to support.
